Endless Pool Addition

Our clients were looking for a building to enclose their endless pool, a swim spa with a current that allows for swimming in place. It creates a great space to relax or workout. The trick was providing a covered deck area without making the adjoining family room feel too dark. To accomplish this, we added the covered deck at the end of the new pool enclosure to create an “L” shaped addition. The new deck has an open, sunny area next to the house where sun streams into the family room. The covered deck offers a respite from the sun or a chance for barbecue on a drizzly day. This is our first use of a “ductless heat pump” system, a small remote heat pump that will provide heat, air conditioning, and humidity control for the new addition with a high degree of energy efficiency.
